I imagine this fine pot has been pouring out coffee for bachelors for now over 110 years.
Hallmarked: "H-S" (Henry Stratford, used from 3rd quarter of the 19th century on wards) [Crown] (made in Sheffield) [Lion] (English Sterling .925) "O" (date stamp for 1906) ... Pattern # 2866 (or perhaps 2868) stamped on bottomHandle looks like it's made of ebony. Filial probably was too, but at some point was replaced with plastic or bakelite, but still fits with the style.Style has scalloped gadrooning, Engraved with the monogram "GWM", I'm only being wistful that it served bachelor's their morning cup, as it's suitable for a couple, holding about 3 cups 2 oz.It has been kept polished. The handle is a bit loose where it's pegged to the body, but still strong enough to be picked up full. There's a ding in the lid that prevents it from closing completely; it's so difficult to find someone to repair hollow wear these days!
