This mid Victorian mechanical propelling pencil measures 110mm (4.25") long open x 85mm (3.25") closed and weighs 10 grams. It tests as solid sterling silver with the makers mark for Butler & Co London and dates to around 1860. It has a reeded body with the seal end unscrewing to reveal the spare lead storage and will need an M size lead. It is in good antique condition and still operates well with a smooth slide action and the lead propelling mechanism working as it should and is ...sold with no reserve.
