Vintage E. C. SIMMONS KEEN KUTTER K0612R Equal End Pen Pocket Knife 1924 - 1934 NM
Item History & Price
I’ve gone for months now avoiding having to do this BUT...... Due to the nearly pandemic number of non-paying and late paying bidders, and the fact I’m spending as much time trying to to get auction winners to pay for what they purchased 4 and 5 days earlier it’s become necessary for me to put the following policy in place. So starting immediately payment is due within 48 hours. If payment is not received in that time a non-paying bidder case ...will automatically be opened with eBay. This may seem harsh to some but it is necessary because of the actions of the few. Few being as many as 11 at once at times. Bidders with 350+ positive feedbacks and customers with which I’ve had previous successful transactions are exempt from the requirements and I thank those customers very much. If you are bidding on multiple knives I can waive the 48 hour rule. Just let me know and hold payment until I can send you an invoice to save you on shipping.
If you don’t read the full description and look at all the photos you’re going to miss a lot of detail. Please ask questions if you still have any.

This beautiful Near Mint E.C. Simmons Keen Kutter Equal End Pen is just a few minor blade scuffs shy of being mint. Using the NKCA guidelines it could still be considered mint but I’ll call it just near mint. The knife has an unused and unsharpened carbon steel narrow spear point main blade with a common nail pull. Both blade faces have just some minor blade or liner rub. They also have their original factory mirror polish and their original factory edges. Still clearly etched on the front face is KEEN KUTTER. Stamped on the front tang is the Keen Kutter bar and wedge logo. Stamped on the inside of the top curved edge of the wedge is E.C. SIMMONS. Under that and just above the bar is KEEN and then KUTTER inside the bar. The bottom of the wedge is stamped MADE (over) IN (over) USA. That’s a lot in a little space. Stamped on the rear tang is the knife code number of 06 (over) 12R. On the other end of the frame is an unused and unsharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade. It too still has its original factory mirror polish and its original factory edge. It’s stamped on the front tang with the same bar and wedge logo as on the spear blade. Both its faces are clean. Both blades have excellent open, close and half-stop snap. The knife has a nice set of genuine Mother-of-Pearl scales in perfect condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are three nickel silver handle pins in each scale. The knife has brightly polished nickel silver elongated and rounded bolsters. They’re free of any dents, may have a tiny ding or two and any scratches are incidental at best. The liners are also nickel silver. It has a single mirror polished steel back spring that’s free of any cracks or breaks. It continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This great vintage E.C. Simmons Keen Kutter Equal End Pen Pocket Knife is 3” in length. The Model 0612R was made between c.1924-1934. Additional photos or information on request.
