Sydney Laurence Alaskans Off To The Potlatch Framed Vintage Painting - An offset lithograph titled “Alaskans - Off to the Potlatch” after American landscape painter Sidney Laurence (1865 - 1940), Who is best known for depicting history and life in Alaska. Used by Northern Pacific Railway as part of their famous advertising poster in the 1930s. It was then issued as a fine print. The paining features a boat making its way through the water with snowcapped mountains in the distance. ...The artist printed signature piece is located in the lower right corner. The painting his housed in a wood frame with a wire for hanging. This piece is in very good condition for its age. There are no cracks or chips in the glass. There are no cracks or chips in the wood frame. The paper on the back does have some tears and was taped by its previous owner. It measures 35 1/2” tall x 29 1/2” wide. This is a beautiful piece and would make a great addition for any fan arts collector or collectors of anything associated with the railway or collectors of artifacts dealing with Alaska.
