This auction is for a vintage 'PLEX' optical type photographic exposure meter in its original box, complete with instructions and an Imperial optical exposure calculator. The Plex was made in Austria. It is described on the instruction sheet as 'The Exposure Meter for Difficult Light Conditions'. It works with a spot of light in the window which is gradually blotted out by turning the wheel on the side until it disappears - the correct exposure is then read off the scale on the f...ront. It is in excellent cosmetic condition and looks to have hardly ever been used. The box has some wear on the edges and has faded, but is still quite sound. The meter measures 56mm x 42mm. The Imperial is worked by holding it vertically and looking in the top where a series of numbers can be seen which gradually get darker until they disappear. these numbers are then read against a chart which was originall on the back of the meter, but this is missing. There is a side knob which I think is for for varying light conditions. It measures approximately 40mm square. Please message me if you require any further information.
