Itis native to the southwestern USA and northern Mexico and grows inwild state on semi-deserts. From spring toautumn it creates numerous lovely yellow flowers and green inflatedfruits. B...erries (closed inside inflated calyxes) are yellow-green, sticky and edible when fully mature (they are nice in taste - juicy, sub acidic, but with only a little aroma). Plant likes full sun orsome shade and well drained soils. Drought resistant (and it issomething resistant to regular water-lodging if grown in pots). Plantself-infertile - to obtain the fruits there are necessary at least 2plants (obtained from 2 seeds). Rarity in cultivation. Package 20 fresh seeds (harvested in Autumn 2018).
