The first two photosshow details of my stock specimen plants growing on cork tubes; photos three throughfive show the well-established cutting grown plant from my stock plants, grownin pure New Zealand sphagnum moss. Anthurium flexile is one of three closely-related climbinganthurium species from the Polyphyllium sectionthat occur from southeastern Mexico to western Colombia. It is veryclosely-related to and, in the lowlands at the southern end of its range isoccasionally found growing... near its more finicky sibling species, Anthurium clidemioides. There are twosubspecies, and subsp. flexile is aprized plant for rare tropical plant growers that originates in the Caribbeancoastal rainforests from Veracruz, Mexico to eastern Panama. This particularclone is propagated from from seed-grown material from the Caribbean coastalrainforests of Guatemala. Beside its very dense vining habit the most notablefeature of this plant are the bubbled, metallic green leaves that inevitablyinspire admiration from plant growers who see it for the first time! Of easywarm, humid cultivation, it is an outstanding choice for large terraria and forvivaria housing small reptiles and amphibia, particularly treefrogs and dartfrogs. Long experience growing this plant suggests that small amounts ofsoluble calcium added every month or so to the fertilizer regimen produces morevigorous growth. Probably suitable as a houseplant if trained up a treeferntotem. All plants offered are greenhouse grown on benches in the San FranciscoBay Area, California.Shipping: Plants will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail withtracking number for physical addresses within three working days of receipt ofpayment, weather permitting. 72-hour heat packs are available for an additionalnominal charge.Wherever possible, plants will beshipped in plastic pots or baskets.
