Superb high quality original 120+ year old silver... example, (definitely not a modern re-production), this is a genuine antique. The silver case has a sprung sloping hinged lid with a blue enamelled interior and it is all-over decorated with fine enamelling; it has lovely semi-erotic scene on the front with the verse "Voisin en nentre pas je suis en chemise - Mais moi aussi, Voisine". There is a scene depicting a lady in a black dress on the reverse and the sides are decorated with flowers and foliage. There is a rough striker plate on the base and there are no added personal engravings. A very scarce enamelled silver vesta. Measurements Measures approx. 1.9 inches (48mm) x 1.35 inches (33mm) and is 0.5 inches (12mm) deep, (including lid).Date French Antique 19th Century solid silver,  unmarked as is quite usual with these kind of enamelled boxes but 100% guaranteed antique solid silver and dating from around 1890. 
Condition Good antique condition, with no splits or repairs to the silver and the sloping sprung hinged lid works perfectly and still has a good strong spring. The beautiful enamelling is definitely all original, there are some chips mainly in the corners and a bit of age-related scratching on the back, (see all 12 photos), but there are no restorations and it is a nice un-restored example. A beautiful enamelled vesta, perfect examples of these make over £1000 if you can find one.
