I thought I was done for the night but, according to my sister, this one is “Quintessential Gunne” and is *the dress* that people would associate with the brand. So that’s why my wife owns it in three colors. Check. Anyway. So now instead of packing it in and going up to visiting, I’m doing this.
This one is tagged as size 11; I put the measurements up ...there in the box because it doesn’t seem to be the same as a current times 11. I took a picture of the chest area for two reasons. First was to show the side boob panels, which are a dark red velvet and really nice to the touch. The second is because I wanted that rope photographed real well. I feel like this may have been changed out. I don’t know it for a fact, but it in most of these “lace up the boobs” style dresses, the rest of them have a slicker cord that is almost like paracord. Not this one. It’s more of a rough, ropey feel. It matches the texture of the loops, so maybe I’m wrong; but I know that having the original pieces seems super important to some of y’all, so in the spirit of transparency I wanted it shown. The most important thing you need to know about this dress is that it has pockets. I think that’s pretty cool. I like this one a lot, as it’s a lot less frou-frou than a lot of them. Its only been worn once, and then took up space in many a closet, all over the world, as it traveled with our military family. This dress might be more traveled than the top three Beckies you know! It was bought new by my MIL and worn only once to her Prom, which is weird because the blue on was purchased by my wife for her Prom 23 years later; this means that two otherwise rational women, both of whom I love dearly, saw fit to buy this dress and wear it only once in spite of the fact that it’s a perfectly good dress and could have been worn anywhere. Really.
As I said in the other listings, if you’ve seen them, if you have any question please feel free to ask. I’ll answer what I can - I started putting the dress measurements in the descriptions after getting multiple requests for those, so thanks for telling me that was of interest. Anything I can’t answer I’ll ask my wife when she’s a little less woozy. For those just joining us, I’ve been photographing and listing these to help fund her medical care, and this morning... let’s just say when they say “milk of amnesia”, they mean it. When I left her - in the hands of competent medical staff, I didn’t LEAVE-LEAVE her like that, I’m not an animal - oh, speaking of animals... we’re a non-smoking household, but we do have two dogs. The dogs don’t go in the master closet and aren’t much for vintage wear, either.
