Original Description:
A rare 1827 Needlework Sampler by William Bainbridge together with a number of silks which may have been added at a later date. Every one of these samplers is usually done by a young lady so to come across one by a young man of 18 years is intriguing. My thought is that this particular piece may have been done by an injured soldier, given the military connection with the silks ?
The frame is 44.5 x 34.5 cms
