This is a large, probably Indian, brass vase with a bit of age to it, featuring a pierced rim and twisted cobra snake handles. The neck and body are engraved with detailed and ornate representations of animals, people, flowers and foliage. It has been lightly cleaned but would benefit from more detailed attention as it has accumulated some verdigris in the crevices. Other signs of age are a suspected repair to the quite fragile pierced rim, shown at about 12 o'clock in photo 4, loose h...andles and a shallow depression at the back which is visible only when viewed from the side, as in photo 5. Overall, looks fabulous and will display well in the right setting. Measures about 36.5cm x 20cm, including handles, and weighs 1.57kg.
