ART DECO VINTAGE VENETIAN MILLEFIORI SMOOTH BEADNECKLACE WEAR REPAIR RETHREADA beautiful necklace with graduated mosaic glassbeads This isa beautifully bright and glossy vintage millefiori bead necklace made up ofhighly decorative and pretty multicoloured smooth, round mosaic glass beads. Thecentre bead measures 13mm approximately and one of the smallest approximately 8mm. The highly gloss, smooth beads are well-matchedin their graduations and alternate with transparent ...green glass beads. Part oftheir fascination is that although two beads may look similar, every one isindividual and these are particularly beautiful, many of them with gorgeousbursts and elaborate star-shapes. Allthe millefiori beads are in excellent condition. Thenecklace has been rethreaded with care, finished off with gimp wire, endingwith a secure little screw barrel from the Deco period and although perfectlywearable as it is, measuring 15.5 inches (39cm), it would benefit fromrethreading and could possibly be lengthened and the two AB glass beadsreplaced.The highly glossy millefiori beads are all beautifullydecorated and different from each other; although two beads may look similar, every one is unique because they are hand-made. Translated from the Italian millefiori means thousand flowers; a canefused from different layers of coloured glass resembles tiny flowers incross-section.
