My neighbor was apart of the U.S. cycling team and had a large collection of Trek bikes he used. I did some work for him before he moved away some years ago, but he let me keep this bike as payment. It’s a 1985 Trek 2000 Aluminum Speed Bike, used for racing, with a detachable front wheel. It shifts using those two arm crank, down-shifters, which makes it really vintage. For anyone who’d want a really sweet rideThe tires are 26 inches in diameter and are 7/8ths of an inch in width (although they were a little deflated at time of measurement). They’re the original whitewall tires. It has gears which can be changed via crank arms on the bike’s frame, which truly make it pretty vintage and sweet. The bike also has an odometer attached, which isn’t so vintage (but it can be removed easily). My neighbor used the bike, but I only used it a few times before keeping it stored for the last few years. I eventually replaced the original pedals (metal, ‘bike-shoe’ pedals...pictured with pic numbers 7 and 8), for standard plastic bike pedals, although the original heavy -metal bike petals (which require bike shoes) are included. It still has its vintage stickers, including a USA sticker behind the water bottle holder for the bike. I’m not certain how much it’ll cost to ship the item, so I listed shipping at $150, but that can be adjusted. I just want to be able to ship the bike to the prospective buyer in the safest and most efficient manner, but that also depends on said buyer’s willingness to pay for shipping. Condition is Used, but it’s in really great shape and is fully capable of being used, as is. The dang thing can really pick up some speed. It’s pretty cool. The body/frame is in fantastic shape, especially for its age, although the original logos and stuff are a bit faded, and what not (as you can see in the photos). Those are the original tires and they can probably be cleaned up pretty well, with a magic eraser, which I’ll probably end up doing, to be honest. On Aug-23-19 at 20:03:11 PDT, seller added the following information:Road-Speed Bike...Extremely Rare-Top tube rides 33.5 inches off of the ground-Bike is approx. 60-62 in. in length-190 mm (7.5 in. pedal-crank length)-8 Individual gears (Gear Brand: Suntour Superbe Pro)-26” tire diameter
