Authentic very RARE Vintage Hermes Paris Silk Scarf Carré 'Animaux Legumes' by Annie Gavarni
Issued only once in 1960.
A very hard to find and rare design. Very sought after by Hermès collectors and given an ‘2A' Rare rating, in the Hermes scarf guides, Carrés d’Art III.
A very beautiful & striking design. Animals & fish made out of vegetables & cutlery. Just fabulous.
In my opinion one of the nicest colourways of this design I ha...ve seen. Turquoise, yellow, grey, green & red.
The same design/colourway can be seen at the V&A (Victoria & Albert) Museum in London.

The scarf has been worn but is in good vintage condition for it’s 59 years of age.
The scarf has been washed in the past so the silk is soft and supple and drapes beautifully.
A few pinholes (from being worn with a brooch), visible when held to the light and a few small marks (pic 9/10)
Hems are nicely rolled but rather flattened with age. Small part of hem (pic 4), approx 3cm/1.1inch has come undone.
Please bear in mind before bidding & start price reflects any flaws.
Price reflects the scarcity of the design (try finding another!). I have only seen the design twice on ebay in 15 years so a truly exceptional piece for Hermes collectors.
Fabulous very wearable colour way rarely comes to market and great saturation of colour on the reverse as seen in picture 3.
All in all a great scarf and a wonderful addition to your Hermes scarf/Hermès Carré collection!
