Very good condition original pre WWI FrenchModel 1896 cavalry officer sword that has Klingenthal manufacturer markings onthe blade spine. 37 ½” blade has beautiful original bright finish and was neversharpened. Still has original leather washer at the base. Brass hilt hasbeautiful patina. Horn grip has a tight fit and no damage. The wire wrap hasbeen removed. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that is in very goodcondition. Scabbard has original bright plated finish s...howing some normal wearand flaking, no dents. A nice French cavalry sword that will make a fineaddition to a collection.
