Up for auction is a beautiful solid brass lion's head door knocker. The knocker has never been used and has the original stock number on the back. It is in new condition. The door knocker is approximately five inches in diameter and comes with brass mounting hardware.
The knocker was made by renowned Virginia Metalcrafters which for a period was commissioned to reproduce historic Williamsburg architectural ornaments. I am not sure if this is a Williamsburg re...production, but the back of the knocker includes the VM stamp, some model numbers and another symbol that looks similar to a South Carolina palmetto tree logo. Unfortunately, Virginia Metalcrafters is no longer in business and their products are highly coveted today.
