Being offered is a rare and unusual Blue Willow Cosy Teapot set. This is a stacked or nestling Teapot, Creamer and Sugar Bowl with a Lid. This very nice cosy teapot set has the traditional Blue Willow pattern and border. Please carefully look at all the photos as they are part if this item's description. While unmarked, this piece is made in Japan.
This Blue Willow Cosy Teapot set is in MINT CONDITION. The...re are NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS, and NO REPAIRS. There is normal occurrence of glaze crazing. All the pieces are very clean. This cosy set is featured in the Gaston's Blue Willow 3rd Edition ID and Value guide, pager 145, plate 377 (see photo 5). The Blue Willow book IS NOT INCLUDED in this offering.
The stacked cosy measures 6 inches tall to top of the creamer knob and is 3 inches wide at the bottom of the teapot base.The teapot with lid on it measures 3 and 1/2 inches tall to top of lid knob and is 7 inches wide from end of spout to end of handle.The sugar bowl measures 1 and 1/2 inches tall and is 4 inches wide at top opening to the end of handle.The creamer measures 1 and 1/2 inches tall and is 4 and 3/4 inches inches wide from end of spout to end of handle.The lid, when turned over, shows a small dark spot on the small catch (see photo 10).
