LUCILLE BALL (1941) Vintage 13x10 B&w Double Weight Portrait For RKO
Item History & Price
Vintage original 13 x 10" (32 x 25 cm.) black-and-white double weight glossy silver gelatin print still photo, USA. At the height of her youthful glamour and at the start of her career as a star (after years of chorus, supporting and B-movie roles), Lucille Ball is the epitome of 1941 sophistication in this portrait. Her modeling experience in New York paid off, posing for such publicity stills as this. The RKO attached paper publicity blurb is affixed to the... verso, stating she had been born in Butte, Montana (she was born in Jamestown, New York, and went directly to New York City as a teen from there). Lucille had just married Desi Arnaz, as the blurb also states.
This image was to promote her leading lady role with Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy in Look Who's Laughing. There is creasing to all four corners, a bit more prominent in the top left side corner, NEAR FINE.
