I used to collect photos and military documents, and I donated a huge amount to museums - the ones left over are duplicates or lessor-quality items than my donations. Passing on history:
4x6.5" original German photo of an early model Bf 109 (apparently a D-1, according to experts) VERY RARE image, official accident investigation photo. Half were destroyed or damaged in takeoff & landing accidents but in exchange, they destroyed of 80, 000 Allied aircraft. Germany built ove...r 33, 000 Bf-109 fighters and they served on all fronts, in nearly every campaign from the Civil War in Spain in 1935 to incongruous dogfights over the nacent state of Israel in 1948.
This photo looks like a botched landing, off the prepared grass operating surface and out into a field that broke the back of the aircraft. Tons of details, great for a model diorama.
