Original Description:
WWII U.S. Military M1 Steel Helmet, Fixed Bale.  Very nice example of WWII McCord front seam, fixed loop, stainless rim, khaki strap,   M1 helmet.  Has virtually all of original cork finish and original paint.  A couple of bare spots on the top as shown.  Has scarce gold finish buckle.  At one time original "J" hook replaced by T-1 type.  I will include early correct hook for restoration (see photo).  Named with what looks like typical Marine Cor...ps stencils.  Solid fixed loops and nice distinct heat lot number "224A" indicating 1942 manufacture.  Nice restoration project.
