This lot features one of the last items that I'll be auctioning off that came from the former Harpers Ferry Civil War Museum (not affiliated with the National Park Service). This is a very rare hand-written, four page letter written by General Rufus Saxton during the Civil War. Unlike many post-war letter from famous generals, this one was written in the middle of the war itself.
Saxton was the recipient of the Medal of Honor for defending Harpers Ferry from ...an attack against "Stonewall" Jackson.
