For your viewing is astunning pillow created from anantique tapestry made in Belgium. There are three pillows available in a set, but they are listed and soldseparately. This listing is for PillowA listed below. All have soft pastoral scenes with peasant women, some with a child, and are in shades of gray, pinkishbeige, and tan. A few tapestries have a twinge of light yellow green also. I was told by theFrench vendor that the tapestry originated in the 1920’s, I divided th...e original into three segmentsto create these lovely pillows. Thecolors in the tapestries have faded, ashappens with all tapestries of this age. However, the muted colors are evenly across the board and still beautiful. It us not unusual to see small age spots in aged tapestries like these. I do not see anything noticeable in this one. Carefully look over the photos to judge for yourself, as the photos are part of the detaileddescription.
The series is as follows:
A. In the first pillow , three women and a child are seen near a stream where the women are gatheringwater. (THIS LISTING IS FOR THIS PILLOW ONLY.)
B. The second tapestryshows four cows, 2 in the forefront and 2 in the background, and also awoman standing off to the left side (THIS PILLOW HAS BEEN SOLD, IT IS NOT AVAILABLE.)
C. The third is a scene with 3 peasant women and a child. One woman is on a ladder holding what could be a piece of fruit, which a child is reaching out for.
All three pillows are displayed in the last photo. If you purchase more than one, you will likely receive a refund for some of the shipping cost.
The tapestries aremounted on a two tone cream and beige damask embossed velvet. They are bordered with a French ivory braid trim. The trim is interesting in that there is a very light gray goingdown the center. (It is hard to differentiate the gray inmost photos. See photo # 7 to seeit best. It is a bit more visible in reality.) Only 5/8” to 1” of the embossed velvet fabric is seenon the front bordering the tapestry from one trim to the other.
I chose a fringe tassel trim in shades of shimmery ivory, beige, and tan forthe circumference. Note that in variouslighting, shades of light gray and pinkbeige can also be seen in this trim. The chosen trims are a perfect complement to bring out the tapestry colors of muted grey, tan, and pinkbeige. The fabric forthe pillow back is a soft gray velvet..
The pillow dimensions are 15.5” x 20”, not including the fringe tassel trim. The fringe tassel trim measures a total of 3" long, with the base of ½” and the tassles measuring 2.5” inlength.
I highlyrecommend dry cleaning, especially with delicate fabrics and needlepoints. Velvets can be ruined and needlepoints canshrink with water and then need blocking. It may be possible to use gentle detergent to spot clean a tapestry if not too soiled. The risk would be in causing a water mark, and then you have to do the whole tapestry and run the risk of getting thefabric wet. Drycleaning is best.

*IMPORTANT: Usually a polyhypoallergenic pillow insert isstandard Note these pillows have a feather/down insert included. If you prefer a hypoallergenic polyfil insert please let me know. NOTE: The package will weigh between 4-5 lbs with the down feather insertso expect higher shipping cost. Let me know if you want to change to the polyfil insert or if you want only the pillow cover. I will be happy to make these changes, but it is important that any requests be made before your purchase and not after. USPS International First Class is less expensive but package to be 4 lbs or less.
