This damper control looks like the one seen in the film A Christmas Story. There's a scene when Old Man is fighting with boiler downstairs, and the Mom sheepishly turns the knob on a control that looks like this one.
It has a brass finish, not sure if it's solid brass or brass plated. It's heavy, weighs almost four pounds.
