Antique 18thc Early French Indigo Blue Resist Fabric Quilt Piece 1

Thrilled to have acquired a lovely batch of 18thc French indigo blue resist quilt pieces and fragments. I will be listing a few different size pieces in separate listings at the time of this listing. Beautiful old early rare indigo resist. So rare to come by. The few that remain are truly special; mainly coming out of old attics, collectors or in the same family for many, many years. This pattern has been referenced in literature and museum exhibitions.
This piece measures aprox... 17" X 16" ~ it is overall strong with a break as shown photo # 4 and some small wear as seen. It is without it's old coarse linen back so at some point someone had begun to unpick it. The batting can be lifted easily to remove and threads remove easily as well or it can stay as is if framing or desiring the quilted look in pillows or projects etc... Framed would be visually amazing. The fabric is marvelous used in smaller period projects.

I sell antique and vintage fabric. Each textile is different; some possibly used, some unused. I will give you my best assessment. I do not always launder them nor do I know all their history, how they have been stored over time etc..
