A 19th century Chinese porcelain cylindrical vase (some collectors may call this a sleeve vase). It has a round cylindrical shape with an outwardly flaring rim. This lovely vase has a beautifully hand painted blue and white tree peony decoration to the front with two small birds looking out of a prunus tree towards of the top of the painting. There are two butterflies to the rear. There are borders to the top and the bottom with flowers, peaches, bamboo. The base has an empty doub...le circle or ring mark and iron staining to the unglazed sections. We believe that it dates from the 19th century circa 1860, during the reign of the Emperor Tóngzhì 同治 in the Qing dynasty 清代.It comes with a carved hard wood stand that is probably not original to the vase but, it came with it when we acquired it.The vase stands 10 1/4 ( 26 cm) high (11 11/16 inches on the stand) and 3 3/4 inches ( 9.5 cm) diameter at the rim wide.The stand is 4 inches diameter and 1 1/2 inches high. The vase and stand weigh 805 g unpacked.Condition: It is in very good antique condition with a small repair to a chip to the rim at the front. There are some frits to the body and some of the decoration has "heaped and piled" cobalt primarily on the leaves in the border decoration.This is a beautiful item to add to any collection of Chinese Blue and white porcelain or decorative vases a very stylish statement piece.Free UK and international postage with this item.
