MPC Pontiac GTO Tiger DYN-O Sidewinder slot car 1:25 scale. In good to very good used condition.
I bought this new in late 1965. The car has been raced and has what I consider to be normal wear - a few scuffs and a scratch on the windshield, however there are no cracks or breaks. The body is molded in gold colored Cycolac, supposedly the tough plastic used for telephones of the era. The stripes are modeling tape which was popular at the time. There is a vintage 1966 Chiquita Banana ...sticker on the driver's door. (In my 15-year old slot car mind, they were my racing sponsor.) There is some minor adhesive residue on the passenger door where the other Chiquita sticker used to be. As for the tires, the front spongies are dry. The silicone slicks in the back appear to be just fine. The interior is complete for this kit, featuring a driver and roll cage in unpainted black plastic. The chassis is in very good condition for its age. I have no way of testing the DYN-O-Sidewinder motor, however it turns freely, the brushes look good and the gears mesh smoothly. There are nylon bearings for the front axle and Oilite bearings in the rear. Both axles turn easily. This kit came with a "DYN-O" braking system which I did not use because I didn't think it worked very well. The brake arm is missing but the brass weight is included. Also included is a pair of the original aluminum wheels, brackets for installing a different body and a spare guide shoe. I'm also including the Cox controller I used with the car. The original box is long gone but I will pack carefully for shipping. Ships to USA only.
