This is a HUBLEY 1906-1919 massive Hook and Ladder wagon in beautiful condition. At a gigantic 33 1/2" this, '126' model is the second largest ever built by HUBLEY. The two wagon trusses are nickel plated. All the rest is painted cast iron.
This huge piece comes with two original wooden ladders of 17". Although they are over 100-years old they are in impeccable condition, note the gentle flare of the stringers at the bottom 3-rungs of the larger ladder. The ladders slide... into each other and are provided with the hardware to guide and hold in place the upper ladder. For the last 30-years the ladders have been treated with oil preservative every year. There are also two 13" wooden replacement ladders with steel rungs.
The driver is original to the piece. The rear man is original but not to this piece.
Both front and rear seats can be tipped over 180 degrees.
