I have rece...ived quite a lot of questions on this item so I hope to clarify some things. This item was part of my grandfathers collection which was quite extensive and was recently passed down to me. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his collection but unfortunately I am not (wish I was). I cannot answer specific questions about when this item was made or how and where my grandfather made the purchase and if it was sold as a set. I have not personally tested the trains to see if they are operational. The information i have on this item are from the boxes (old Lionel boxes for both the loco and tender), the items themselves, and what little research i did on the internet. Due to eBay policy, I can only list 12 pictures. I have shared pics of the underneath with several people so if you are indeed very serious about this item please reach out and I will send those to you. As I stated in the original description, this item is large, very heavy, and will probably cost a fortune to send. For that reason, I would like the sale to be final. I wish I could be more helpful and knowledgeable and I understand if my lack of knowledge prohibits you from bidding. Thank you.
