Antique/Vintage genuine original Oneida Community, NewhouseNumber 14 trap. The renowned Newhouse traps are the brainchild of SewellNewhouse, and the Oneida Community. Sewell was the son of a blacksmith, and at17, he created his first trap out of scrap metal from his father’s workshop. TheNewhouse No. 14 trap is a toothed, double spring design, reading "S.Newhouse - Oneida Community, N.Y. - PAT. Sept. 26, 1911 - No. 14" instamped lettering on the pan. The right spring arm is stam...ped "S. Newhouse- Oneida Community N.Y. - Made In U.S.A.". Oneida sold the trap makingdivision in 1925 to Animal Trap Company, dating this trap between 1911 and1925. The trap shows good original condition overall. The trap measures 183/4" long, with a 2 5/8" pan. Questions welcome.
