Interesting POW letter, written by a German soldier who was interned in the well known US POW camp in Ludwigsburg.
With the invasion of the US Army in Baden and Württemberg in 1945, thousands of actual and suspected National Socialists, potential war criminals and security-endangering forces were arrested by the occupying power and sent to internment camps, of which four were alone in Ludwigsburg.
The interned German wrote the following lines:

Ludwigsburg, june 21. 1946Dear Klara, Dieter and Margot !To this day, I still have no answer from you to my letters from April and May, but now I do not want to wait any longer. 1 package from Gertrud with cookies, from you with honey and cookies, 4 pieces of cake and from Gertrud a letter from 25 April, as well as a letter from my mother I have received and thank you for it. I'm fine health wise, hopefully you too. Dear Klara, do not worry about the comprehension of Margot, everything will be fine, because the first year is not decisive. What else is new, I always wait every day for mail from you. Please let me know if you can not write more often so I do not have to wait unnecessarily for a letter. Klara, I hope you have kept my coat with a hood well. You do not need to sew, you could make pants out of the fabric. You have to know yourself what is important. I have only received 3 letters from you so far. I hope I get mail by the end of the month. Please give Paul Jäger, his brother-in-law Willy and his wife my favor. Note new address.
