Here is a World War II US Army POW Post Card. Cancellation March 29, 1945. Addressed to an 84th Division Sergeant held in Stalag III-B. Sent from a friend in Philadelphia. The censor stamped card had been returned as not deliverable. At this time, after the Battle of the Bulge, Germany was almost totally in ruin and its infrastructure was collapsed. It was almost impo...ssible to communicate with US POWs held by the Germans, even with the help of the International Red Cross. The rare POW post card is in fair plus condition and is 74 years old.

Background: The 84th Division entered the European Theater later in the War. They were credited with the following campaigns: Rhineland, Ardennes - Alsace, Central Europe. 749 men were taken POW, 129 MIA and unaccounted for until today.
