As Larry Shinoda's finest examples of his well documented history in automotive world, this faithfully reproduced copy of Ford Mustang Boss 302 is in my opinion, the best model produced by the original Highway 61. The proportions are perfect, lines are beautiful and it's just as perfect as a model will get. The new ACME has since bought the original tooling from Highway 61, but if you have one of those, you know the quality isn't anywhere near the original and they have a lot of ...details wrong.
This Boss 302 came out of the factory box when I bought it new, and lived its life in a acrylic display case. But do go over each and every photo, there are no such thing as a perfect model. (Being in IT for the past 20+ years, my eyesight is about as bad as it gets)
The model from original Highway 61 is engineered with realistic scissor type hinges on the hood and correct door hinges, (no dog legs door hinges here) and detailed G code Boss 302 engine. If you're to add a one 1969 Boss to your collection, this is THE one. If you're looking at this, chances are you already have other Highway 61 Mustangs. Unlike the 1970 version of Highway 61, this one has the correct headlight without the 'cross eyed' tabs that secures the headlights. (again, if you're an enthusiast, you know what I'm talking about) There were 30 different variations of 1970 Mustangs produced by Highway 61. There are only 4 variation of 1969 Boss 302s from original Highway 61. Yes, they're rare, but you already know that.
If you're a serious collector as I am, you know these were selling(not listing price, but selling price) at $200-250 range just about a year ago. With ACME's re-release of 1969, I realize it is a buyer's market but but do get informed that the new ACME has wrong details like the 'Boss 302' stripes (Larry Shinoda is rolling over his grave on that one), no valve stems on wheels, and list go on and on. Ever see how the hood fitment is on the new ACME with paint on the edge peeling off because the fitment is too tight? Yes, I know. Soon everyone will too. I'm being very reasonable at the starting price. Please do your research before offering me a 'wishful price'.
I do not have the original box for this car. My wife mistakenly threw it out. My fault as I didn't hide it away like I do with rest of my boxes, when I first got it. What I will do is that I will pack this car in a different Highway 61/DCP clam shell style (no screws) box from the sports team themed promotion Highway 61/DCP 1970 Mustang. It fits perfectly as '69 and '70 overall body is the same. It will be well packed.
I do not do partial refund. If the car suffered damage(highly unlikely, I pack these well enough to survive a fall from Sears Tower), or something like a side mirror fell off during shipping and you don't know how to glue it back on, return it back to me for your full refund. I'll do the claim via USPS and deal with them as these will be fully insured.
Your Boss 302 will arrive in brand new packaging material. Brand new shipping box, brand new bubble wrap, etc. Even the 'wrong factory box' is brand new.
