VEHICLE SPECIFICS-1/18 SCALE 1971 DODGE CHALLENGER R/T CONVERTIBLE/HIGHWAY 61 #50240//Originally built as a Hardtop//SUPERCAR 1 , a very well known and highly recognized diecast retailer commissioned the highly professional and acknowledged machine shop, BACKYARD CONVERSIONS (BYC), to modify a total of #12 cars as an exact rendition of a R/T CONVERTIBLE. The result is one of perfection and power of a distinctive iconic representative of the MUSCLE CAR legacy. Pillar modific...ations, a polished windshield header, installation of a perfectly proportionate and located boot, and other quality conversions as needed to produce this amazing MOPAR icon.
CONDITION-Absolutely perfect in every way. This is a one-owner car that was always displayed in a glass enclosed cabinet that provided a dust free and smoke free environment.
PAINT-High luster and flawless factory correct "HEMI ORANGE." ACCENTS include distinctive BLACK R/T Model accent stripes, BLACK SHAKER and BLACK BOOT.
EXTERIOR FEATURES-All unique and distinctive R/T Model trim and labeling. Hood pin retainers, "HEMI" call out on the BLACK SHAKER, and other features. Everything is exactly proportionate and perfectly located. Nothing has ever been missing, replaced, broken, or repaired. The impressive overall presentation is one of quality and accuracy.
FIT-All the body panels, paint lines, and trim lines align and conform perfectly with a tight fit throughout. There are no sags or gaps. The stance is level and equal at all 4 points.
INTERIOR-Accurate texturing and patterns to the BLACK bucket seats, panels, visors, seat belts, dashboard, console, carpet, convertible boot, and all other similar features. The dashboard details, gauges, steering wheel, console, transmission selector, seat belt clips, and all interior trim is portrayed as per the actual car. Both the trunk and chassis display numerous details that are properly colored, located, and, as designed, functional.
MECHANICAL DETAILS-Extensive and completely accurate, correctly colored, labeled, and component complete 426 C.I. "HEMI" V-8 that was rated at 425 H.P. This is mated to the console mounted automatic transmission selector.
BOX-This is in superb shape. All the viewing windows are intact and clear. The box is specific to the SUPERCAR sponsorship of this car. The bottom of the box displays the BYC verification labels. There are just a very few and minute blemishes from previous shipping and storage.
HISTORY-For the 1971 Model Year DODGE produced a total of #26, 299 CHALLENGER vehicles. Of this total, #71 cars featured the "HEMI" engine. While a total of #2, 165 V-8 CONVERTIBLES were manufactured, only #9 HEMI CONVERTIBLES were produced and just #4 of these featured the HEMI/automatic combination.
