sharply and lightly potted white porcelain of circular form with a wide everted rim, the interior painted in fine underglaze cobalt blue tones with a central double medallion depicting a bird perched on the twig of willow, five plum blossoms to the rim border, typical plain underside, a cobalt-blue kaku-fuku seal mark within a square to the base set with a spar mark,... covered with a pale blue tinged glaze in darker hues where thick, some kiln-grit adhering to the footring, partly soiled The blue and white Arita porcelain dish is thought to have been manufactured some time during the Kanbun era (1661-1673) for the domestic market.
