Up for auction is a tin friction windup Harbor Department Pilot boat made by Bandai of Japan. The boat measures 10 1/2 inches or almost 27 centimeters long, including the extended rudder. It is complete and original with the exception of the windshield "glass", which is a very well done replacement. The boat is in excellent condition; the windup works very well, with the propeller in the back of the boat spinning away when the boat is wound. The paint is really gorgeous, glossy and ric...h with a beautiful patina. There are a couple of very minor scratches and chips, and absolutely no paint touch ups or repairs. The base has some fading and a couple of scrapes and scratches. Again, no touch ups or repairs in the base paint. The paint on the top of the boat is so nice that it more than makes up for the wear on the base. This is not a rare toy but it is very hard to find in this beautiful condition. Thanks for looking!!!!
