Team Losi XX CR Brian Kinwald 1/10 2WD Off - Road Electric Buggy Vintage JRX TLR
Item History & Price
My typical clean for an old kit that was put away dirty and then sat for 10, 15, 25 years is to remove the bo...dywork, wheels/tires, then liberally apply wd-40 from a spray bottle letting it soak for a couple days in a plastic tub. Using a soft brush I scrub over everything just a lil' and hit the major areas of junk a bit harder. Then I spray the kit down with a diluted mix of water and dish soap, brushing again, then rinsing with water. At this point is where I would take every nut & bolt apart if I was doing a full restoration. For this kit I went no further than the cleaning.
This buggy has MIP CVDs, Lunsford "Punisher" Titanium turnbuckles, gold shock shafts, machined motor plate, blue anodized braces on front & rear bulkheads, some purple anodized hardware in the rear shock tower and the hydra-drive, and the graphite infused "stiffezel" parts. I think all of these items and the 5-spoke wheels were factory stock for the CR edition. Nearly all the graphite markings are all but faded off. I tried to picture them on the rear shock tower and suspension arms the best I could. They are faint, but there on most parts. What was left on the chassis was nill and came-off with the washing I suppose. The front bulk-head is the original black piece and in good shape. If you aren't aware many are broken by now and long out of production with the Losi updated white bulkheads fetching as much as $80 on here. There are some 3-D printed replacements available from time to time for ~$30 or so, but this kit does not need one, original is nice & intact. Yes I know I could part this kit out and make a lot more money. I'm not interested in fooling with the extra time it takes to create all those listings or make all those trips to ship items. I'm only selling this whole.
The car-stand is not included, only the roller, very nice for a basher or a pretty good start for a full-on shelf-queen resto-project. Major items I would replace to make it like-new would be a box-art painted body & wing, chassis, and rear motor plate. After that the smaller parts get nit-picky and are an eye of the beholder sort of thing IMO.
