Made in Chicago, Illinois by the Kohler Liebich Co., Incorporated. Mr. Kohler died in 1927 and was one of the most prominent men in the field of manufacturing chimes and other organ accessories.Between 1915 and 1940, John Bruno Kohler and his partner Otto Liebich, Sr. produced a variety of percussion instruments under their company name - The Kohler Liebich Liberty ...Chime Company. While the majority of their products were wall-mounted Dinner Chimes and theatre & church organ organ stops (xylophones, marimbas, celestes, chimes, harps, etc.), they also produced small quantity of floor standing orchestra marimbas.It consists of the wooden sounding box, the five chime bars, and the 5 brass sounding pipes / tubes. It is approximately 22”long and 15”wide.In good condition and it sounds great. Needs a good cleaning (found in very dusty condition in a closet at an estate sale). Wood has couple flaws and sound bars and pipes have no damage. Wooid case has use scratches and could use refinishing. Has some paint residue on edges of sides. Come with mallet. Missing one string to cover bar.Has the pictured brass tag / label on the back that reads:THE KOHLER LIEBICH Co. LIBERTY CHIMES PATENTED CHICAGO U.S.A.
