Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for an unusual antique Sterling Silver master butter knife/spreader by the Whiting Mfg. Company in the stunning "Heraldic" pattern. This lovely pattern was issued by the Whiting Mfg. Co. of New York in 1880 and features an elaborately embossed design of a knight's helmet above a shield on the end of the handle with decoration covering the entire stem. There is a lovely monogram "L"&n...bsp;in shield cartouche on front of handle. Back of handle is engraved "Nov. 21, 1888". Measures 7" long. Weighs 35 grams. This unusual butter spreader is in good Estate condition reflecting only minor signs of normal wear.
