One of a pair of very decorative oils we are offering this week by the landscape artist W. Wilson who is recorded as having painted topographical views of the Scottish coast during the late Victorian and Edwardian era. This painting is signed and inscibed to the reverse as a scene on the Forth Estuary, Scotland.
Age- 1915
Size- 20.25 by 26.25 inches approx (515 x 665 mm), panel 12 by 18 inchesMedium- Oils on card panel
Frame- Heavy gold frame, some knocks, offered free with the painting. Condition- Generally dark and a little dirty with some craqueleur and rubbed paint in places. Some thinner paint areas as is typical with this artists work. Some darker varnish spots and some restoration to the clouds in the sky. Some concave curvature to the card panel.
