The hair was originally wrapped inside and is accompanied with a copy of a 19th century autograph note acknowledging the hair belonged to Napoleon, “Napoleon’s Hair, ” and a catalog description from Dominic Winter Auctions, one of the world’s leading historical relics auction houses, authenticating the hair. A lock of Napoleon’s hair that only contained three strands sold for $2, 151 at Heritage Auctions in February 2006.
