Honestly, I am not a "GameBoy" person or even a video game person. This item does not look "purple" to me, just clear, but I gather that "purple" is how it is described?
Anyway, you pop a couple of batteries in this (takes 2 AA batteries, NOT included) and turn it on and it makes a little beep and the screen comes on. Don't have any games, so beyond that I couldn't tell you.
