This is a nice example of a German Prussian Fireman Seitengewehr Short Sword Sidearm Dress Dagger which dates from the World War 1 Era. It is mounted with a straight, sawback, etched blade that measures 18 3/4 inches in length which remains in good condition with only a little surface staining and beautiful etching still clearly present on either side The German silver pommel and guard are simple in design and also remain nice in their condition. The lovely black wooden hilt also remai...ns very tight and healthy in its condition. The leather scabbard is wearing a replacement base fitting that was taken from a German WW2 Air Force dagger.
