G-scale Train Garden Railway: LGB 3530 TURMWAGEN (Tower-Car) Catenary Maint - YB
ONE Authentic LGB TURMWAGEN (Tower-Car) Catenary Maintenance The workers' nest platform on the top of the tower rotates around. The tower can be removed from the small freight flat car and used as an accessory decoration. I am the original first retail owner of this and acquired it many, many years ago. Condition: Excellent Authentic Original - Yellow Box biopredation and wear & tear from storage... and use. The original box measures approximately 7¾ inches by 3¼ inches by 8½ inches. Yellow Box with LGB & LEHMAN in red & white printing and car designs in green printing. Box Label is white, green, & black. Box Label Text: •L•G•B• MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY BY LEHMAN 3530 Also has an original store price tag on box which is fading. Unique Images of the actual item available in this listing. This item comes from my personal collection & accumulation that I started acquiring when I was very young in 1973-1974.
Back in the day the G slang in G-scale wasn't for Gross (big) or Garten (garden) but for German language. When I started we could only get European-style designs, so it seemed like ages before we could get any American-styles. It was very difficult to get anything. All the first literature available to me was in German, then it started coming out in British English. It took a long time to get any American English information. When I talked to the very sparse other LGB/G-Scale railroaders, they were all a bunch of really old men, even some even had facial hair! It would take me a week to set my layout up indoors and remarkably only 4 hours to put it away in its original boxes. It was only setup indoors in a large multi-purpose room and a small layout in the living room below the Christmas Tree.
This is an LGB related item: LGB is a German-language acronym for Lehman Gross Bahn or in English, Lehman Big Railway. Lehman toys started in late 1800's and was well known around the world for their tin toys. They introduced the trains in very late 1960's from West Germany. Western Germany was a common name for the Federal Republic of Germany, Bundesrepublik Deutschland. When it comes to the G-Scale not everything is in true proportion. I have always viewed it as the point to inspire the artistic and whimsical aspects of model railroading.
