Beautiful sterling silver spoon from Atlanta Georgia dating back to yearsaround 1900 when this kind of spoons was refereed as N…. spoon, featuring onfront of handle detail image of state seal with a banner reading CONSTITUTIONWISDOM JUSTICE MODERATION, below image of rising sun above clouds, below an eagle with U.S. shield and holding an olive branch and thunders and GEORGIA down the handle.  In the bowl it has embossed verydetailed image of three black man or boys with curly ha...ir under their hats andthick lips, the engraved writing is ATLANTA. This kind of Black Americana Figural Souvenir Spoon was refereed asN…. spoon. This spoon is an example of negative black stereotyping common atthe turn of century (1900’s) that African American people were confronted with.It measures 5" in length (128 mm) and is in excellent condition.
