Homecoming 1942 was different. WW2 had just begun for the US and things were chaotic everywhere. Coincidentally, the Wisconsin Badgers had 1 one of their GREATEST TEAMS and GREATEST PLAYERS of all time in 1942 Ohio State was also HUGE POWERHOUSE that season and the third team in mix for national Championship was Notre Dame and Wis played them too! Elroy Hirsch played in this game- Crazy Legs played for LA Rams for years in NFL and later became Athletic Director at U- Wis Madison.... There was not a metal homecoming button or pin issued in 1942 and these paper ones are impossible to find. 1 of these in lesser condition recently sold for over $500 on Ebay look under completed items.. This is much nicer and no water damage or scrapbook damage only 2 slight creases up by original string. String used to tie on button or lapel or hat. There is no writing or erasures or glue/paste or tape damage. This is as nice as you can find. NO WAITING Hit the BUY IT NOW and avoid future regret and you won't be sorry. Very Few exist! Look at reverse side for listing of all the players. Some of Badgers were killed or captured in WW2. Schreiner is like Nile Kinnick of Iowa Hawkeyes- both did not survive the war. Beautiful COLORFUL and art imagery. Wat tougher than a ticket stub or program or pennant. BIG GAME OF THE YEAR! Much tougher than baseball or basketball or hockey.
