Super Rare ANTIQUE VENTURI WATER METER w/ Built-in JH BUNNELL TELEGRAPH SOUNDER This auction is for an extremely rare Venturi Water Meter with built-in J. H. Bunnell & Co telegraph components. The Venturi Water Meters, produced by the Builders Iron Foundry in Providence, RI, are typically large volume meters for municipalities, water companies, or large industrial facilities. The meter offered here has a porcelain face with dials recording usage in Cubic Feet between 10, 000 and 1,... 000, 000. The meter has brass gears which are mounted to a brass back plate, and the telegraph sounders are attached in a manner that they can transmit the Cubic Feet readings remotely. The meter is mounted to a walnut backing with nodes to connect the wiring. The walnut board has dimensions 7 ⅜” wide x 8 ½” high and the nodes are an additional ⅞” high. The overall condition is VF to Excellent with the only noted blemishes being a fracture in the porcelain face at the upper right corner and a short hairline at the left edge (see photo details).
