Great weight of solid hand-crafted fine lead crystal. Etched with WATERFORD logo on the bottom. Size: &nbs...p; 5 3/4" Across the top 4 1/8" Across the bottom 10" Tall Great condition! No chips, cracks, hazing, flea bites, fogging.There is a rough over cut near the rim done during manufacturingThere is shelf wear on the bottom commensurate with age.

The rich heritage of the Waterford Glass House is clearly demonstrated in items such as this Celery Vase. This design and a number of variations were recorded by Samuel miller a foreman cutter, who created a legacy through his work in Waterford in the 1820's. His original pattern drawings are still treasured by the Nation Museum of Ireland to this day. From about 1780 there was a growing acceptance that uncooked vegetable could be eaten at the table. Indeed etiquette began to recommend that the palate could be refreshed between courses with green salad or celery. This revolutionary suggestion resulted in a demand for appropriate. but decorative glass dishes for the table. this is on of the designs developed by the Waterford Glass House to cater for these new trends.
Due to the nature of hand blown and hand cut crystal there will be slight variations from glass to glass. All sizes are approximant and each glass may have a slight variation in weight. Air bubbles can appear in hand blown glass and are not considered a flaw. We sell many used items that have the typical day to day wear. Most are in GOOD USED to EXCELLENT Condition!! Pictures were taken of any major spots, cracks or chips. Some may have flea bites, stains and/or scratches from use. We make mention of any significant damage, cracks, break, repairs, chipping, fading, or flaws as best we can. We are not dealers and not experts.
