Me 262A - 1a Large FMPM Messerschmitt die cast metal WWII jet fighter. I believe this heavy weight model is a 1:48 scale. The wingspan is approximately 10.5 inches and the length is approximately 8.5 inches (see photos). This highly detailed metal display piece weighs in at 1 1/2 pounds (24 ounces)
It is in a 'excellent' pre-owned condition with a very tiny pinprick of red paint loss on the tail. You will need a magnifying glass to find it. I have studied other Me262 models and som...e have a wheel cover for the nose landing gear, and some do not. This model does not. I do not know if it originally came with one but it does not detract from this beauty. It displays upright, and perfectly balanced, on the 3 landing gear tires.
The camouflaged pattern is very vibrant and unique. Check all 12 detailed photos, and enlarge for closer inspection. The outer skin and cockpit are highly detailed as you would expect from Franklin Mint Precision Models, and the decals, unit emblem, and German lettering on the outer body are sharp and clear.
