Schrade custom shop collaboration with the famous late custom knife maker Joe Kious (d. 2014, RIP), limited run of 100 (this is no. 61), a reverse congress pattern with fluted bolsters, fileworked blade rears and backsprings, and damascus steel wharncliffe and drop point blades. There is a much more common version, released to the general public in a run of 1000 (vs. 100), which entail most of the Schrade Kious knifes like this you will encounter on eBay.. The differences b...etween the public (1000 pcs. run) knife vs. this knife (100 pc. run) are that this knife was released exclusively in a run of 100, and initially offered only to NICA members. This more rare, finer run differentiates itself from the public run in that: instead of brown bone handles it features jigged green bone, it features a propeller shield (unlike the public run, which is shield-less), its production number (xx/100) is stamped on one of the bolsters, and instead of a Schrade-marked box, ostrich skin sheath/pouch, and black zipper pouch, THIS run came with ONLY with the knife, ostrich skin pouch, brown tissue wrap, and a blank white box marked "NICA-1" on the side and with a sticker displaying the serial number out of 100. This specimen includes the original ostrich pouch, NICA box, and brown tissue (including the knife, of course).
