This sale features a genuine ticket stub from the 2011 Winter Classic outdoor hockey game.The pictures shown are of the exact item you will receive.This ticket stub is from the fourth game in an annual New Year’s tradition for the NHL. This outdoor game was played on January 1, 2011, at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA. The Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Washington Capitals in a competitive game that was fitting for the advertised “Winter Classic”. The Capitals... overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Penguins 3-1 in a game which was played at 8:00pm, moved from its originally scheduled 1:00pm start time due to concerns about the potential effects of rain on the ice surface. The change was effective, as the small bands of rain that lingered into the evening had no adverse effect on the game. The crisp, smooth stub has minimal rounding and wear on all 4 corners. There is also a sticker on the reverse of the ticket (see paragraph below). Beyond these imperfections, you have an attractive stub from a popular and memorable game, with vivid colors and no holes, tears, rough edges, folds, creases (specifically noting that the perforated crease for the ticket to be torn upon entry into the stadium is tight and uncreased), or missing pieces.The ticket has an autograph, allegedly from Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby, and certainly consistent with what his autographs tend to look like. There is a certificate of authenticity (from an entity which is not acknowledged by eBay) that will be enclosed with the ticket.
